Notary Services

If you reside in the United Kingdom but need to have documents notarized for use in the United States, you have two choices:
 • Notarize Documents Through the Embassy
 • Notarize Documents Through the British System

Notary services are provided by appointment only, to American and non-American citizens, who need to have documents notarized for use in the United States. Appointments cannot be made by telephone and you will not be admitted to the Embassy for a notary service without an appointment; walk-ins are not accepted.

Book your appointment now! (You can only book on days shaded yellow. The Embassy is closed on all UK and U.S. public holidays.)

You Must Bring:
 • Your passport as means of personal identification, and
 • Evidence of a name change if the name in your passport differs from the name on the documents you wish to have notarized.

Fee:
 • $30.00 for the first signature/seal
 • $20.00 for each additional signature/seal
 • Payment may be made in Pounds Sterling, U.S. Dollars, or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard ONLY). Personal checks are not accepted.

Certain notarial services CANNOT be provided by U.S. consular officers. They are:



The American Citizen Services Branch of the U.S. Embassy in London can assist with redemption of U.S. Savings Bonds and certifying photocopies of U.S. passports.
