Since Saturday, September 10, 2005 there have been sporadic outbreaks of violence in and around Belfast, as well as in other parts of Northern Ireland. There has been severe rioting and damage to public and private property.
Traffic patterns in and around Belfast, as well as in other parts of Northern Ireland may be temporarily disrupted. For questions about traffic in other areas of Northern Ireland, please contact the local police in that area. For questions regarding bus or rails line disruptions, please visit www.translink.co.uk. Check specific tourist sites to determine whether they are open to the public.
U.S. citizens are advised to maintain a high level of vigilance, take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness, and exercise caution in public places or while using public transportation.
