Commenting on the work of the International Fund for Ireland, Dr. Dobriansky said:

“Since my appointment as Special Envoy to Northern Ireland I have heard a lot about the valuable role that the International Fund for Ireland has played in building peace and prosperity throughout the island.  The United States has been contributing to the IFI since its inception in 1986 and it is encouraging to see some of their funded projects in action.”

Speaking about the U.S. Government’s on-going support for Integrated Education and the work of Rowallane College, the Under Secretary added:

“The President was delighted to meet two of its students during this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at the White House. Both they and Principle Dr Olwen Griffith made a lasting impression. We wish everyone involved at Rowallane continued success for the future”.

The Under Secretary’s visit will continue in the Republic of Ireland on June 8.
