In Other Rooms, Other Wonders
Pakistani-American writer Daniyal Mueenuddin reads an excerpt from his short story “Nawabdin Electrician”. The U.S. Embassy brought Daniyal to London and Birmingham to attend the Asia House Festival of Asian Literature and to speak with students, writers, and artists about his new book, In Other Rooms, Other Wonders.

Letter to the Working-Men of Manchester, England
On January 19,1863 President Lincoln wrote a letter to the Working-men of Manchester thanking them for their support and acknowledging the suffering the blockade during the civil war was having on the people of Lancashire. Matt Goshko press officer at the U.S.Embassy in London, reads the letter.

Courtesy of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History and in celebration of the Lincoln Bicentennial the American Embassy presents General Colin Powell reading the Gettysburg Address at the reopening ceremony of the National Museum of American History on 21 November 2008.
