September 11 Remembered
Grosvenor Square Memorial
In remembrance of those who lost their lives in the United States on 11 September 2001, a permanent Grosvenor Square memorial garden was erected at the west end of Grosvenor Square, London. The gardens were completed for September 11th, 2003 – the second anniversary of the attacks. (U.S. Embassy London photo by Oliver Theis)
The design was devised in conjunction with The Royal Parks and landscape architects, Land Use Consultants and consists of an oval with two planting beds on one side and an oak pergola with a classic pavilion on the other. A stone centrepiece with an inscription remembers all victims.
