Does the DS-160 keep timing out on you?
Loading photographs onto the DS-160
You are given only one attempt to successfully load a photograph. If that attempt fails, you may continue completing the DS-160. The confirmation sheet that you receive at the end will an X in the box where the photograph should appear. This is fine. You should bring the confirmation sheet together with a photograph taken within the last 6 months. Detailed information on the photograph requirements is available from the Department of State website at http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/info/info_1287.html. Read more
Creating a Family or group application on the DS-160
On the “Thank You” page you will see an option to create a family or group application. When you select this, certain information from your application, such as destination, will automatically be imported to and displayed in a new application. Please note that if you use this option, you will need to create an individual application for each of your family members traveling together. This option may also be used if traveling as part of a group. Read more
Do not appear for the nonimmigrant visa interview unless you have completed the DS-160
The Nommigrant Visa Unit is unable to accept your application for a visa unless you have completed the DS-160 and are able to furnish the confirmation sheet and photograph. If you appear for an interview without it, your interview will be canceled and you will be asked to return at a later date when you have taken the necessary action.
Have you been turned away from the Embassy because you selected the wrong visa category on the DS-160?
It is important that you select the correct visa category in the ”Travel Information Section” . If you do not do so, we will not be able to process your application and you will be required to complete a new DS-160, which will mean having to reschedule the visa interview.
