I have been reading the blogs about DV-2011. I have received an email telling me that my application to register for the last lottery has been successful. Is this genunine?

Those who regsitered for DV-2010 were notified by the Kentucky Consular Center between May and July of this year. Notification was by mail from KCC in Lexington, Kentucky and NOT email. Only those selected are notified. If you have not heard if your application was successful, or you have concerns about the notification received, you can check your registration on-line at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov
Those of you registering for DV-2011 will be notified by mail between May and July 2010 if your registration was successful. Those registering for 2011 will be required to furnish an email address which may be used for follow up communication, but the intial notification will be mail. You will be able to check on-line from July 1, 2010.
