Latest News From January 4, HIV Infection will be removed from the list of Communicable Diseases of Public Health Significance which means that it will no longer be an inadmissible condition. Travelers applying for visas on or after January 4, 2010 will no longer be required to tick “Yes” to the question “Have you been afflicted with a communicable disease of public health significance or a dangerous physical or mental disorder, or ever been a drug user or addict?” based solely on their HIV status. It also means that travelers who are qualified to travel under the Visa Waiver Program but have been prevented from doing so because of their HIV status will, from Janury 4, 2010, be elgible to travel visa free.
